We are pleased to announce that sales and support of all exploration products sold in the United States will now be handled by the Geotechnical Drilling and Exploration (GDE) business line of CMT USA. It has previously been supported from Atlas Copco Exploration Products in North Bay, Canada.

This is a great benefit to the customers of Atlas Copco Exploration Products. By incorporating the core drilling and exploration products into the established US distribution, we see better service opportunities for our customers and synergies for growth because of existing relationships and a wider product range.

The exploration products sold in the US have seen excellent growth in the last five years. With this next phase in the businesses evolution, all US-sold products will be supported through Atlas Copco CMT USA. All current staff dedicated to exploration products in Elko, Salt Lake City and Roanoke will remain in the same role but will report to the GDE business line manager, Gene Mattila.

CMT USA will have increased aftermarket support responsibilities, but for the most part, business will remain the same. This development will take place over the next few months to ensure that the internal processes are seamless to the Customer and good service continues.

With the addition of the exploration products, the complete line of GDE products in the US market will now include surface and underground exploration drills and consumables, grout pumps and geotechnical drills, as well as Symmetrix, Odex, MAI and Swellex brands of ground stabilization equipment.

We look forward to the opportunity this brings to Atlas Copco’s expanding efforts to grow exploration products and increase service benefits to our customers in the United States.
